I am now able to use the CoinStar machine at the local grocery store at NO CHARGE. WooHoo! This is great, copper percentages in the high 30's and low 40's, access to 25 boxes/week within 1 mile of the house and free dumping.

Take pictures of the stares and looks that you'll get from the old ladies in the grocery store when you haul in $400 of zincs, and you can call this, "PRICELESS"

lol...
and Neckro, thats exactly what I am thinking. But, its only because I got a job there.
I'm only 16. So i dont have a lot of time to do penny sorting. maybe like 3 hours a week. I can get $150 done in 3 hours. I work there and also do mobile Automotive Detailing (i.e. Interior/Exterior cleaning, scratch/swirl removal.) Do all that and then chill with friends on the weekends so theres not much time to re-roll everything and take it to the bank. I brought in a 90% full 5-gallon bucket. Mindy at the front end was like wtf? |

| I did this on Saturday. Went to the grocery store with $231 in zinc, dragging it behind me in a large rolling suitcase. Very humiliating, but whatever. Got a $231 Amazon gift card. Will just buy a gold box deal and sell whatever it is on ebay for a small profit . . . |

89gt,
On August 5th, you posted a picture of the new 2009 Ford F150 you just purchased.

At 16 years old working part time at a grocery store you were able to purchase a truck like that? If you did more power to you, I'm impressed. I guess I am just jealous. I am 50 years old and couldn't think about purchasing one of those. I have too many kids to put through college and too many weddings to pay for. |

I couldn't get the Expedition 100%. My meter was readings in the low 60's, so it was not safe to go any further. I still achieved 80% correction.
Here is a 2005 Mustang I did.

Here is a Vette I just did recently. I do not want to do a write up on it, so just look at it from here. Oh, and if you are wanting this done, it'll set you back $155 exterior only, for a car the size of a vette. Full size SUV's start at $225. I am not a hack-job and do have a loyal customer base. 90% of my customers are referrals, I do not do mass advertising.
(Notice, its the guy that lives across the street from me.)

Are you purposely trying to come across as a dick? It sure seems like it. Maybe you missed the part where I 'just got' a job there. I have been doing detailing for over a year and the business has taken way off this year. I am working at the store for a couple reasons. I gives me something to do other than detailing and chilling with my bros. (I dont sort pennies 24/7 like some on here do.) And, it is an additional $200 a week, which is real nice. Being that your 50, it may have been a long time since you were my age, but insurance isnt the cheapest thing for someone my age.
And yes, I did not pay for 100% of the truck. My parents helped pitch in. There not going to have to pay for college (I am going to go into the military.), so they decided to let me get a nice truck.
Any other questions people? Sorry, but Im a little inappropriate languageed right now when someone gets like that. |

The part time job was smart...make a few bucks and dump for free. One of the bookkeepers thinks that we can use the coin star at work for free, but she is not sure how you do it.
Are your parents helping you pay for that nice f-150? |

Thanks. That is a great attribute to getting the job. My brother already has worked there for 3 years (Sophmore in college) and I know all the levels of management. It is a stress free environment.
Does she have the key? What you do, is open the part right below the sorter. Flick the button to the op position. Then, with the button on the display, (I forget which one) set the number to zero. It will then let you do it for free. Coinstar allows this.
I rather not what it cost, because every on here seems to think I am a snot nose kid. BUt since its you... lol
Well the dealer put wheels/tires, leveling kit and tail lights on. It was $37,000 OTD. I paid $17,000 cash on it. I will pay $600/month for one more year, then it is mine.
Peace. |

| Is Slickeast a "Dick" too because he asked if your parents were helping you pay for the truck? I didn't mean anything by my comment. I just don't know of any 16 year olds that can afford a new 2009 Ford F150. As you can see in my previous post I was congratulating you on the good work you do and your work ethic. Sorry I made any comment. |

He compliments you, tells you he's impressed and he's jealous of your achievements.
And then,,,,,, you call him a dick...???

Redneck-
He definitely came across as being sarcastic and being a jerk. Anyone who has common sense knows that legally someone who is 16 can't have a vehicle in their name. And if your making minimum wage, you wont have a line of credit to purchase a $35-$40,000 vehicle.
Anyways, why do yall make a big deal about it anyways? I understand the part of paying for it myself and being ambitious. On the note of the truck, at least 40-50% of the vehicles in the student parking lot are $40-$50k plus. New Escalades, Z06 vettes, Jags, Mercedes. Some spoiled rotten kids, and it kinda makes me mad too. Most don't have to work for it. :( |

Hey its a nice truck no doubt, and if his parents want to help then I think that is great too. He is working 2 jobs at age 16. Most 16 year old's don't even have 1 job.
I have owned 3 new trucks and would like to buy another, but since I do not have a car payment, I want to keep it that way.
Plus all my extra money goes to buying copper, silver and gold. |

I agree with redneck. He didn't come of to me as sarcastic or a jerk.
Calling another member a dick because he complimented you isn't a big deal?
Maybe it's just how 16 year-olds are.
But the siblings I have at that age haven't acted like that. And we haven't handed anything either.
