WHAT IS THE GOING RATE FOR APPLIANCES HERE IN NH ONE GUY TAKES THEM FOR 2 CENTS A POUND AND THE OTHER TAKES FOR LIGHT IRON AT 6 CENTS A POUND

I don't think it is worth the effort except for removing the copper cord from the back. Depends on how much your time is worth on dismantling them.

It depends on what you are breaking down. Some items have lots of plastic and might make more weight with it intact as "white goods". Others if you can pull the motor cut out all the insulated wire then do that. Then scrap the rest as scrap steel. Depends on how much time you have. When I take my son to the scrap yard he always wants a cut of the money! So make em work for it!
