SELLING COPPER PENNIES 1.4X FACE SHIPPED......“I sincerely believe that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies, and that the principles of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale” Thomas Jefferson

i'm not familiar with each of those, but my recollection is that many of those are convertible to euros (and then exchangeable for dollars) at much higher rates than given in the article. that suggests to me either these european countries drastically underperformed the u.s. over the last decade or the article has teh numbers low to dissuade popular support for disbanding the EU.

I don't think you can exchange the French Franc or the Belgium Franc anymore; it is past the expiration date of them being convertable.

And he that hath lyberte ought to kepe hit wel / For nothyng is better than lyberte / For lyberte shold not be wel sold for alle the gold and syluer of all the world. -Caxton's edition of Aesop's Fables, 1484
wikipedia generally will tell you a lot. often times there is a different trade in date for coins and for paper. sometimes, there is a different date depending on the year of the paper currency.
