Unlike March 2010, April 2010 was a month of disappointment for many SILVER searchers - 12kHz found only 5 SILVER halves all month after finding 896 during March, JJM found only 2 SILVER halves after finding 400 during March, Country slogged through 27 1994-P solid BU boxes, and 72% of all half boxes during April were SKUNKS. Others faired better - UDEric grabbed 243 SILVER halves, slickeast and cwgii finding over a 100 SILVER halves. After 3 great previous months, only 1358 SILVER halves were found during April. With some notable exceptions, this month underperformed. However, UDEric found 9 rolls of solid SILVER halves, 80 of them Walkers; and cwgii found 71 SILVER halves in 4 rolls of halves.
1) April was uneventful month until slickeast found 90 40%ers in a $1000 bag on April 16.
2) Then, UDEric found 9 solid rolls of SILVER halves (including 80 Walkers and 78 Franklins) on April 17.
3) On April 27, Computer Jones gets the best half box containing 52 SILVER halves.
4) On April 29, cwgii finds 71 SILVERs in 4 rolls of CWRs.
5) Finally, on April 30, Hirbonzig finds an 1801 Large Cent in a roll of halves.
6) cecropia_moth beats all competition finding 39 SILVER dimes during the month of April and regains the yearly lead in dimes too.
7) zerocd finds 41 War Nicks during the month of April; finding more than everyone else combined once again.

It's important to post your SKUNKS as well as your great SILVER finds. That keeps the statistics honest. I'll try to post some graphs of our SILVER finds as 2010 proceeds along by adding data to this initial post. I'll see if I can post some interesting insights into the data here in this initial post for 2010 too. Even though this is a national tabulation of all our finds, I think its fun to know what finds are being made and at what frequentcy.
It might be interesting to see how many Barbers, Walkers, Franklins, and 90% Kennedys are found too. Also, how many Barbers and Mercurys dimes we find. I'll try to keep track of all of these.

Picked up 3 40% Silver Halves at a yard sale yesterday. I had bought a couple of items and they gave me 2 half dollars as change...1 of them was a 40% half. I asked if they had any more halves and they had another $3 worth (which I bought), 2 of which were also 40%...a nice unexpected score.
All of my boxes from Loomis in the last 3 months had a 2 DEC 09 inspection. box 2 today had a 19 APR 10 inspection so I think Im starting to get my dump back!
