I ran out of cash on my person or I would have hit more locations

several locations that didn't have any on hand.)

It's worth noting that in order to purchase the $271.50 from a

an even $500. The teller was super helpful, and she got
the last '09 quarter she needed for her son's book in return. :-)

TOTALS for $1231.50 searched:

- 1 NIFC ('03)

I also found 1 war nickel in 20 rolls of Nickels searched. I
rarely search nickels, but I do hoard them...lol.

WELCOME!! I'll put you down as an IOWA SILVER searcher.

Well, dumped what I though was a full clad bag and what do you know, coinstar rejected a silver half I had missed. I have been wanting to test the machine to see if it would really reject silver and now I know. Makes me feel better when I just rim search due to time constraints.

So, add another 40% to my count...:)

And dumped my other bag today and got another rejected 40%. I gotta start looking at dates.

So add two more 40%'s to my count.

These were from my previous 2k which only netted me 1 40%.

I just recently complained on another thread that I wasn't getting silver in my boxes. Today ai was finally able to get to the bank and pick up last Fridays halves.

Box 1- 5 40%
Box 2- 2 40%, 1-1964, One 1977 Proof and 1-1989 Jamaica 50 cent piece.

I would take these numbers any week.

6-Boxes Halves
Heavily searched and scoured with a few entries during the latest reroll.
These are from two banks with the same service.
I get a lot of skunks normally.
They are always stamped within the week previous to receiving them.
I wonder if those great finds from others are dated recently as well.

Box 1
Not a thing

Box 2
1-1776 S Silver Proof . My first I think.
Absolutely nothing else (but I’ll take it!)

Box 3
Skunkaroo

Box 4
1-69D
1-68D
1-66’
1-2002P
1-2002D

Box 5
1-BF 1962P
1-65’
1-67’
1-69D

Box 6
1-1956 BF with no MM and proof like finish
1-67’
1-69D
1-2006D

Started out grim but improved a bit.

From Saturday/Monday.

$509.00 Halves.

Breakdown:

$500.00 - Coin Wrap Inc. box (no facility/date stamp)...3691 4-digit code.

SKUNK

$9.00 - Teller Tray

(1) 90% - 64D JFK

Imagine that...doing absolutely AWFUL on half boxes. Then, going through a bank drive thru on President's Day trying to score some dismes I spot she has a bunch of halves stacked in her tray. I couldn't tell if there was silver or not in there, so I took a shot. The particular 64D JFK I turned up is one of the nicest halves I have ever found...AU+++ w/ some strange bluish toning on one side of the coin and rim. Always nice to find a little teller tray Ag!!! I am really hoping for a turnaround on the box success.

Again from Saturday/Monday.

$1,250.00 Dimes (5 boxes).

Breakdown:

Box 1 - (3) Silver Roosevelts - 61, 63D, 64D

Box 2 - S K U N K

Box 3 - S K U N K

Box 4 - (1) Silver Roosevelt - 62D

Box 5 - S K U N K

That's a lot of dimes to search to find only 4 silvers...way under forum average on this group!!!

Also found 2 coins for the foreign legion section -

1995 Bermuda 10 cents (This was in Box #1)
1991 Switzerland 1/2 Franc (This was in Box #3)

Also found (1) 2009-P Roosevelt dime (in Box #1) by pure chance as I do not date check the dismes. I try to look at as many of the newest looking dimes (bright edges w/ full reeds) as I can to turn up some 2009's. This was only my 2nd 2009 found.

Forgot to mention that two of the rolls were short yesterday. These came in my box from Loomis. First roll was 1.50 short. The second roll which I have not opened and plan on taking back was short $3.50.

It is curious to me that every time I get a box with short rolls, that box has a decent amount of silver in it. I have never had a short skunk.

I have noticed the same thing. When I did boxes, the good ones with the silver would always have a few rolls that were short, but the skunks usually were dead on.

New SILVER stats have been posted. Look to the first post of this thread to get the details. Always look to the line just before the Kitco quotes to see the last post that was included in the latest update.
