Hi all! I've been reading this forum for quite some time and decided to join the fray! I've been an avid "collector" for the past few years and have a few copper cents saved up. I'm interested in counting them but don't want to do it by hand. I'm also not one of the "big boys" and don't want, or need, and industrial strength coin counter. Does anyone have any suggestions for a cheaper coin counter? Speed isn't really of the essence. Just looking for something that is accurate.
I've tried using the search function on this forum but am obviously not doing something right as I get no result sets from the search.
Thanks in advance for the replies! Happy searching, sorting, and hoarding!
a $25 scale can weigh a $25 bag very close +/- a couuple of pennies.
for $150-$200, you can get a CS-10 counter used on ebay. there is a youtube video that demonstrates these. i have one and have gotten a lot of use out of it.
Buying: Peace/Morgan G+ at $15.00 copper cents at 1.3X wheat pennies at 3X
Welcome to the forum. Chances are you live near another member that has a counter. If you live near me in Northern CA you are welcome to come over and use one of my counters. You could also get pretty close by weighing them on a scale. There are roughly 150 copper cents in a pound. If you have them in buckets.. one gallon is usually pretty close to a bag ($50)
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
