| I'm gonna be in trouble. Our water is so chlorined even the dog won't drink it. No, I'm not making a funny, my dog refuses to drink tap water because of the chlorine. We've had to throw out spaghetti and vegetables because the chlorine was so bad we couldn't eat them. |

| What's wrong with knowing if the qualify of bottled water is good? True, the consumer can choose to drink tap water instead, but how is the consumer going to make a reasonable choice without some facts about the water they are drinking? |

That's terrible water. Is your community throwing in the Chlorine to kill the bacteria in the water purification? Have folks in your community complained to your local government?

It aint the chlorine I worry about as much as the florine group. Introduced into water supplies in german pow camps, to make the populace more easily controlled.
Also there is a TON of drugs in the water, that make it through waste water treatment. Have a glass of tap water and you get your anti depress meds, chlorine, flouride, estrogen and whatever else is in there. |

I'm on well water, but I use the "Aqua Rain 400 Gravity Water Filter". This baby takes all the bad stuff out of your water. Bought mine from Yellowstone River Trading last year. Check it out.

If you live in MI and get your water from the Detroit system, get a pool chlorine test kit and test the water. You will be in for a surprise... 
When I was growing up I was told drinking pool water was dangerous...

There is nothing wrong with that. But why do you feel the State needs to set up a monolithic bureaucratic nightmare to accomplish that?
Couldn't you just make a phone call or send an email to the companies and ask what ever questions you had?
If they don't give you a satisfactory answer or don't answer at all, don't buy their product. If enough people did that the companies would realize they would have to disclose information to attain customers.
It's called free markets.
We are not zombies drawn to a product like moths to a light. You don't have to buy anything you're not sure about.

I never said the Reichstat needed to set up a facist bureaucratic nightmare. My only point was consumers need to informed about what they are drinking. Maybe you're not one of zombie moths, but there are many folks who need some guidance. |

Absolutely! One of the primary jobs of a wise, benevolent Gov't is to make sure easily confused folks know how to drink water properly, full of beneficial chlorine and healthful flourine. I mean, some municipalities have water so pure, the Gov't makes them add things like flourine so it isn't.
Look, our benevolent Gov't tells us how many gallons our toilets can use per flush. It only makes sense for the same Gov't to tell us how to use water on front end of the consumption cycle. It would make Theodore Roosevelt proud.
