I was just wondering if others are keeping the 2009 pennies they find in circulation. Why or why not?

| Nope I am not. I sell every single roll I get! The new pennies arent rare! Its the distrubution system that made them sell like hot cakes! I think the price will drop dramiticly! |

In my area, I am not able to find any boxes of the new pennies. So when I get some in change I do save them. I was able to buy one roll from a store cash register, and I've kept that as well. They are like gold around here. ROFL j/k
Also found two so far in parking lots....freebies. YAY. lol |

| I've only found one complete box and a few spare rolls. But I do get a bunch in circulation. I save all of those. Then in a few weeks, when I have enough to not get eaten alive by PayPal fees, I'll sell them on eBay. |

The errors are also a fad. Sell them while you can! Theres too many errors to make them worth a lot. Stright from the mouth of a group of coin dealers I was talking with yesterday. |

| How much is a box of 2009 pennies worth? Also how do you know that it's all 2009? I'd love to sell a box, but i'd hate to get called out on a box that's only 97% 2009's or something like that... |

| How did you know the entire box was all 2009? Was this a typical box from loomis or brinks? |

I'm saving them for the time being. I've only found LP1-Ds so far... I'm finding way more in CWRs than I am with Brinks or CWI.

I've sold one box of log cabins for $185 - can't beat that for a $25 box. They recently made it into the area and I've scored a couple more boxes and listed another this week. If I can round up a few more I'm gonna turn them into some key date lincolns and indians and maybe keep half a box for myself.

| I am a small time hand sorter. I went to the bank today and bought 8 rolls of pennies(all 2009's). That is all the bank had. I was looking for older pennies to sort through, but gladly took the 2009's off there hands. I thought it was sort of strange they only had 8 rolls, i guess they were waiting on a shipment. |

Like highroller said there is a few of them out there, but any coin DEALER will tell you they are not important. The coin attributers on the other hand think that there is something to them and they should be held with a little respect. A few places to get the pictures and numbers. coppercoins.com , dvnmagazine.com ,and doubleddie.com . My local "dealer" said they were nothing but I personally have made a few thousand off of them. Check out any of those sites for info on those. Good luck searching them, your eyes will cross after a while. |

| Eight more boxes found...off to eBay they go. Why would something think these will go up in value? |

| If the population keeps all the 2009's they come across, and boxes stay out of circulation, these will be worth nothing in the future since so many are being hoarded right now. |

| My daughter thinks they are pretty cool and shiny so we have a stack of un-circulated rolls for her to treasure as she grows older. A slips of paper for some shiny coins- hmpf. |
The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; second is war. Both bring a temporary (and false) prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin. But both are the refuge of political and economic opportunities. |

I just got my first ones at the bank today.. so now you know they are common and won't be worth anything.. lol. They ordered $200 worth but only got 1 box of cabins and 1 box of formative years. They sold me 10 rolls of each. I saw the boxes they came out of, and they had the white tape, just like I remember reading someone on the fourm post about. |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available. |
