| Any ex-Marines out there? I'd like to hear your viewpoints of what you think about dissent in the force. |

The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life. – Theodore Roosevelt

| I'd hate to think about having to serve with Draftee's, Nothing like being around people who do not want to be there. Especially if they're angry and have weapons. |

I served with many people in the army who volunteered and did not want to be there. A lot of people join the military not knowing what it's like, and end up hating every minute of it. I shudder to think about how modern "draftees" would react/behave in the service. |

Retired Marines will tell you there is no such thing as ex-marines. I am not a soldier or marine, but I think dissent is fine so long as it is dissent from an unlawful or grossly immoral order. If you just have a problem with authority in general, then you are stupid for signing up. |
