Sweet deal! I might just set aside some of my preps money this week to get that. Have you ever used a Bounty Hunter model? I've had very little experience using metal detectors but want to really start doing it soon, at the very least just to unwind after a long week.

I think that's a kids version. Junior so I'd expect it to be really short in length.

I've always found you usually get what you pay for. $35 for a metal detector.., I don't know.., maybe it might be worth the gamble...

Anyone have much experience metal-detecting on beaches? Or are beaches usually picked clean by other metal-detectorers?

Depends on the beach. But more often than not, yes. At least in my area, your results may vary.

Also, check the local municipality. They may require a permit, and some areas may be off limits regardless.

I haven't been detecting long, but haven't found too much on the beach so far (lake michigan). I do better in the parks (check laws, state parks are forbidden). I have to private properties that are available to detect on (thru Craigslist adds I have run), but haven't done them as of yet.

I own an Ace250... I like it, but I haven't used others to compare to though.

This is the forum I frequent for MDing
