for my first post just wanted to say hi. I just started hand sorting after merc49 told me about the crazy finds he has made the last few weeks. The fact APMEX is here in town and knowing they are buying helps. I have made it through my big change buckets so I'm ready to buy my first boxes.

Welcome to the forum! You have an advantage being next to APMEX and not having to ship them items. Use that to your advantage when you get the chance. We normally pay more than they do on here tho

| I drive past APMEX almost everyday. I have one rule I can only spend profit on this hobby. I want a ryedale and had to stop myself from busting out the card to get one. I hope merc49 will be cool and let me come over and use his until I get one. There are a few coin shops in Oklahoma City that buy so I'm trying to avoid ebay. |

Ebay is a good market for certain things. For example 09 pennies, dimes, or nickels. I dont know of any place that you can get more money for those items than on ebay.
For normal stuff though avoiding ebay is a good idea! Once again though try to sell on here first. Memebers here buy just about anything.
The ryedale will pay for itsself in no time so you can maybe bend your rule a little to help the profit come in faster otherwise there is a couple for trade in the trading section too. |

You mentioned that there are a few coin shops also buying the copper coins. Is that for the 1959 - 1981 or only for wheat cents?

Welcome coach....you're not the coach guy from Survivor are you? Just kidding....it's good to have another one on board. That's cool that you are so close to APMEX, but if I were in your shoes, I would be there constantly buying stuff due to my addiction for shiny (even not so shiny) metallic round things.  |

| yes APMEX still has a nice store here in town. I use to buy silver there when I was a kid and had no idea how big they were. merc49 got me into this so blame him when I take over the world one penny at a time. No I don't coach kick ball I am a HS football coach. I know of one shop that buys 59-81s and wheats and heard a few others buy from time to time. Thanks for all the welcomes. I do have a good line on boxes because my girl friend works for a bank and has to deal with all 14 branches in the state. Right now not such a good place to find new boxes but great dump bank and she can do it for me. |

| Welcome to the forum coachg. Lots of experience here in this forum. I'm jealous that you live next to APMEX. My coin shops here in Jax,FL. don't buy copper, they just try to sell you president dollars for $3 a piece when there is a bank right next door to them that have those same coins. |

HaHa. Coachg is my best friend of almost 20 years and was my best man at my wedding. He can come over and watch my 3 kids any time he wants, but Im not so sure I would feel comfortable with him touching my new baby Ryedale....[:p]
Just kidding how else am i going to get him really hooked and make andy a little more money.

Aw c'mon merc.. let coach use the Ryedale. No way you can feed that thing all by yourself. You guys should team up. With his bank connections and your machine, you guys can both have a great time and make some money.

Yeah ampex buys some bags, but not very many anymore. They have their own Ryedals and sort when they need to. |
