I picked up 4 boxes of CWI boxes dated Oct. 28, 2008 -CWI #69 INSPECTED BY #XXXI.
These are from a bank and were bought on May 12.
Guess what? They were sprinkled with both types of circulated 09 pennies.
Were they pre-stamped boxes?
Obviously something is amiss....

Maybe the only inspect the boxes
Only thing I can think of is that they started making the 09 pennies in 08, but there still shouldnt be both pennies in 1 sealed box. |

That's what I was thinking. Who really knows besides CWI? Not me....

Live free or die. Plain and simple.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams |

Really strange! Was the box properly sealed? I would ask at the bank about the date and inspection methods.
What does CWI stand for? I'm familiar with Brinks boxes, but not the term CWI.

I believe it's Coin Wrap, Inc. They service banks like Brinks does.

Thank you very much for the info. I went to their site and it doesn't say how the coins are wrapped. So does anyone know if these are plastic similar to Brinks or if they are the shotgun shell style paper wrappers?
Enjoy. |

| The ones that I have gotten from CWI are paper; however, it may not all be uniform throughout the system. I believe that Brinks is the only one with plastic. That may have changed though. |

| My last set of 10 boxes CWI picked up yesterday have no date on them just the number 5042 stamped on the bottom. That's the 1st time I've seen that. Maybe the stamp was just wrong and someone was messing around. |
