Found 2 BU Formative Years rolls today. Actually, swung by to say hello at my parents house today and my dad gave them to me. He says the hospital where he works has them in the cafeteria and the nice ladies there save them for him. I don't get it. I order a few tens or dozens of boxes weekly and have not seen any BU rolls. My dad buys a cheeseburger for lunch at work and gets BU's as change- argh!

The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; second is war. Both bring a temporary (and false) prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin. But both are the refuge of political and economic opportunities. |

You just have to be at the right place at the right time. I've been trying to get new pennies since they came out without any luck. Then I go visit my son and the local bank has BU rolls of both the log cabin and formative years, so I get 6 rolls of each. Anybody want to trade a roll of D's for a roll of P's? |

| Congrats, At least you are getting some BU rolls, one way or another. There are none to be found in any of the banks around my area in Ohio. I've called many banks and gone into many asking if they received any. I've also searched many boxes of pennies and haven't found any in them. |

| jonflyfish, I couldn't agree more. I have gotten over 20 boxes per week since the middle of February when the first ones came out and I still have not come across one new penny yet. Some guys on here are lucky enough to get a dozen boxes. Then they can turn around and sell them for thousand of dollars. I don't understand the distribution system for these new pennies. I guess it's kind of like winning the lottery. (And I know I will never do that either.) |

| Trying not to be boastful but I found the DDR-001 and the DDR-002 that were verified by Mr. Billy Crawford. I have since been selling them on ebay for a little profit. Another ebayer named Mkeeny had some verified by Mr. John Wexler also. I have been so busy with them that I have not had time to search any CWR for coppers. Anybody else here find any in there mint boxes or did none of you buy any? |

| I lucked up and got a box of the formative years. Put them on e-bay and made a quick couple hundred bucks. I wish I could get a dozen or a few hundred boxes of them. Would be able to take a nice vacation with the profits. |

| These are in the mints 2 roll sets. Mine were dated 4/29, but there have been a few other dates that these have been found in. Dates to my knowledge are 4/17,4/22,4/27,4/28,4/29,4/30,and a nice DDR in the 5/5 box. So far there have been about 8 or 9 different DDR's found and verified. Once I learned about these I started buying up all the boxes I could for a small price, I think I am at 34 boxes now. Been going through a few different dated boxes and finding the other DDR's in them. Word is that the DDR#2 is going to be the homerun coin of these DDR's. |

I just had a similar sell and thought the same think. If I could get nothing but BU rolls, quiting my job might be tempting. I am going to try to place a large order and see if I can get some more. |

To all of you who have been able to get your hands on these new pennies, congratulations!
I have only seen them at the local coin shop and I just can't afford to pay the premium on them. They sure are pretty though. |

sxxt! I have boxes #9774 dated 4/30/09 which are the ones confirmed to have the DDR coins. Already listed them on ebay. How rare are these things? |

That box will sell for about $40 to anywhere near $100 because the sharks know that is a good date and has plenty of errors. If you have any on that have no bids then I would suggest pulling them and searching them and selling the errors seperately.

| Which rolls are the ones with the errors, P or D mint? Because I don't want to open them both if only one is common with the errors. |

| just the P mint rolls so far. I have been putting the box date and time on my D mint rolls from which box they came out of also. Just so I know which ones to search in case something is found in a particular box date. |

| Opened 3 boxes, and only have a bunch of weak hand errors to show for it. DDR-3 or something. I mgiht just sell the remaining 2 boxes because the 4/30 date should attract bidders. |

| just lucked into a box today. Was actually itching to sort through a box of circulated, but I'll take a (potential) 3 digit profit on the bay any day. I was actually quite surprised at how much these are going for. I was guessing maybe double face when I noticed i scored a box |

First post! I was passing by an out of the way branch of my dump bank today, and decided to go in and try to grab a box (the reason they are my dump bank in the first place is because another branch closer to me gave me a hassle about getting pennies)...anyway, the teller brought the box out and when I took it to the car, I noticed it was LP2s. I immediately went back in to ask for 3 more (only had that much cash on me), and the teller couldn't have been nicer about it; She brought out 3 more boxes of them!
I asked if it would be okay if I came back later on to get more, and she said no problem, as long as they still have enough for weekend change. I went back, and unfortunately no more LP2s, but she called a few branches around town and I was able to get 2 more. Very unusual to see these around here considering I deal with change all day, and I've only seen 5 log cabins and just saw my first log splitter the other day, and all those coins have come from tourists.
Anyone think that there is a good chance that this bank may have more next week, or in your experience is this most likely a one-time thing? |

| You should place orders and get as many boxes as you want. I already think it's unusual that they had that many boxes on hand. |
