Hi All,
we have been offered to buy 5 barges at Black Sea with each 150K used rails on board, i.e. 750K.

Seller is Mr. Samuel William Miller, Florida/USA and his company NSMC Network Scrap Metal Corporation - a division of NHI Network Host's Inc.

No office address or banking available, no 2% PB, no LC/BG payments allowed - only cash.

Can anyone report experience with this person or company?

150K of rail; metric tons, or what unit? In my neck of the woods, 2' and under rail is selling for ~$380/nt in truckload amounts.

Was there any mention in the offer of those barges still being afloat?

Good point. As we all know, metals and boats do not mix well.

I'd sure like to know where that yard is. I'm sitting on about 180 tons of scrap rail right now!

Where do you get all this scrap metal? And who is buying it? Bottom line if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

Now is the time to sell. August is the second month of increases in steel prices. Is it 2' and under? Keep in mind that $380 was my buy price, I run a foundry. No idea what the yards would be paying.

No most of it is random lengths. Would not take too long to sort out the reroll and crop the rest. No hurry in selling right now anyway. We have another 50 ton to haul home yet and am bidding on another 45 ton.

Would you be interested in buying rail crops from us? We are in Iowa.

You should compare prices for what Used Rails usually go through at my website. Then you might be a little bit more weary of this deal. We have plenty of people who post used rails and they are never at such a low price. The link for the sites in my signature. I'd definitely be very careful before just jumping on this offer.
