Numismatically speaking, Buffalos can be very valuable . Better grades and rarer dates are worth researching.

Silver is "real money" and has been for thousands of years.

10-15 cents for no date buffalos.

Common readable dates go for 25-40 cents depending on the dealer.

Buffalos in good shape XF and above normally are worth quite a bit more.

Buffalos, Mercs, Walkers will always be a favortie of numismatists. They have more value as collectibles than as bullion, but are often sold as such in poor condition. Any of them in AU/BU condition is worth substantially more than bullion value.

My two cents are always copper!

I checked with our biggest dealer today. They are buying as follows:

Buffalos with readable dates $0.40/each
Buffalos without dates $0.10/each

On the selling end they seem to do around $1.00 and up for Buffalos with readable dates, and $0.20/each for no dates.

My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.
