| I'm very disappointed that the current Democratic administration is continuing the bias to remove enforcement power from the SEC and to further consolidate the Geithner omnibus central control with possible mutual fund regulation. It was last administration that proposed doing away with the SEC, reassigning their oversea authority to other government departments. Now, the current Democratic administration is proposing the same thing! The head of the SEC, Mary Schapiro, protesting in public about government plans to dismantle investor protection; this is unbelievable. If the SEC is not empowered to do this, investor protection, limited and watered down as it is now, is good as gone once it is decentralized away from the SEC. |
