Are there 40% silver proof versions of the Kennedy Half after 1970? If so how can I tell a silver proof apart from a regular copper Kennedy Half.

Silver 50c Proofs after 1970
1976-S (Clad and 40% Silver)
1977-S to 1991-S (Clad Only)
1992-S to date (Clad and 90% Silver)
To tell them apart look at the edge of the coin. If you see copper, it's a clad proof. In addition, the silver coins have that silver shine  that clad coins do not. |

They made a 1975/6 40% silver quarter also.
Then again there are a few dimes and quarters 1992-S to date (Clad and 90% Silver)
