My uncle just sent me this link--this revolver takes both .45 Magnum and .410 shotgun shells:

Yep, as of last weekend they had one at a local shop. Something like $500 I think. A little much to carry around, especially when I'm already carrying. Very effective at close range, with the proper load no doubt. Cool to have, but not practical for everyday carrying or the home in my opinion.

Oh yeah, I've shot one. Manageable. The grips really do help. That being said, I won't be buying one unless the deal is too good to pass up.

Under what circumstances would it make more sense to use this kind of gun, if cost weren't a factor? Or to ask it another way, what makes cost more of a factor in this case than, I'm guessing, the relative versatility of .45/.410 interchangeability?

I am imangining the .410 is for snakes on the trail. Even a .410 slug I wouldn't think would have the knockdown of the .45 long colt. Also the .45 Long Colt is much differant than the normal .45's we are used to seeing.

When would this gun be preferable versus a regular .45?

looks interesting, I'd buy one if it was a few hundred bucks. Just to fool around with.

There is a new version of the judge that just came out. A friend of mine is going to pick his up tomorrow morning. There is a waiting list to order these guns and it's hard to get them even after being on the list.
I want one, they seem very nice. I thought about ordering one when he ordered his. But I figured I'd wait to see how this "new improved" version is before purchasing a non-American weapon that isnt an AK.

I much prefer my .410 3" Magnum umbrella, very easy to conceal. I've walked right through security with it numerous times.

Is there a safety? I'd hate to shoot someone in the back while opening my umbrella.

Yeah, that would really rain on their parade. Seriously, I wonder how many people have umbrellas like this. The only drawback I can see is that something like this would be a bit unwieldy at close proximity. I'd feel more comfortable with my 9mm. Of course, as an element of surprise, this umbrella would be perfect, but I wouldn't want to carry it with me all the time.

Would rain not fall down the barrel when in use as an umbrella?

interesting umbrella, but some times life requires a trench coat. I'll Put up my combat-wear if anyone interested. I also do costume clothing. Find me.
