Between my slow dial-up and my poor vision, I cannot seem to locate an older post maybe from December, 2008 or January, 2009. I tried using the search feature on here, but no luck with that either. So, before I pull out the rest of my hair.......or overdose on dark chocolate to help me through this experience.......perhaps some of you could rescue this damsel in distress!
I thought one of our members from Florida, maybe NE Florida, did a post about finding a 1983 DDR penny. I wanted to be able to PM that person with a question but can't find the post and can't remember who did the posting. Getting old stinks!!!
So, if any of you out there remember this, could you please post about it or if you are the person that did make that post would you please send me a PM or an email if that info shows up in my profile.
Thanks, everyone.
As a side note...I haven't been able to search as much as I would like to lately but on Mother's Day morning I found myself a small present in a roll I searched. I found one 2000 Wide AM penny. The latest book on errors doesn't list its value for as much as it did before, but the thrill of finding it makes up for the decrease in actual value.
Enjoy.

Thanks, CoinHunter53562.......None of these are jiggling my brain cells as being what I think I am remembering. The poster's name just doesn't jog my memory as being correct, but I do greatly appreciate your help. Maybe I was wrong and it was before December or January but for some reason that was sticking in my brain. I tried the Copper Bullion section and the Numismatic Section. Oh well. Perhaps someone else can remember. |

Is there anything about the ddr that you need help on or do you just need to speak to that original poster? |

I would like to be able to remember who the poster was to send a PM with a question I have. For whatever reason I am thinking this person is in the NE part of Florida.
I don't have a DDR....everyone on here would have already felt the earth move if I did!
zmemarine.....Awesome on your find of one. That is so cool. It is the one coin that every time I speak with my brother, he asks how the coin hunting has been and then wants to know if I have found a 1983 DDR. I tell him, sadly no I haven't. Thanks for your offer of assistance.

I believe that I found the post and have sent a PM to that person.
However, I don't think the person is actively posting at the moment so I hope they have their PM account set to send an email notification alert.
Thanks to all who tried to help me out with this. Usually I am beyond help, so it is appreciated! |

Congrats on your find! Have you verified that it's a true DDR and not a coin with machine doubling on the reverse? I thought I had a DDR but it turned out to be machine doubling. |

I have a half dollar that I am waiting for the next coin show to find out if it is machine doubling or a true DDR. Probably it will be the machine doubling, but my understanding is that some people collect these since they are more affordable and yet still different. |

I will be glad to provided that I can take a detailed enough photo with my inexpensive camera and then I would need to wait until I go to the library again to use their high speed. Downloading/uploading--any thing really--takes way too long with the slow dial-up. Hopeful that I will have transportation to the coin show in September, at least.
Thanks for offer of assistance. |
