Went to the bank and spotted a black 1/2 dollar coin on her tray. I asked her if I could have it she said yes. I new it was silver as it has tarnished. She then said that she had a roll if I wanted it. Of course I told her yes. I thanked her for the roll and she then said thanks to me as her drawer would be a "lot lighter"!

The 1/2 dollar spotted was 69. Nothing in the roll...

tellers hate half dollars, dollar coins, etc. They have to count them every day. Perhaps this is what she meant by "lot lighter"

True, one at a bank I go to loves it when I come in and clean out her change. She also saved a Red Seal dollar bill for me the other day.

Are you throwing that out?

ha! thats a good idea. Should keep prepped baggies with an odd number of halves (less than $10), couple Ike dollars, Susan B, and a Sac dollar or two).

Edit: and a two dollar bill for good luck!
