(You have to know where the coin came form for this to be of any real use)
I used the site to look up a British Virgin Islands $1 coin and found out the coin I have is .925 Sterling. Other reference books I have searched through only mentioned the cupronickel regular strikes.
Even if you don't have any coins to look up, it is still an interesting site to check out.

Kind of a nice coin web site. There are really a lot of those poping up all the time lately. Problem is no good way to find them and/or remember where they are. Someone should really make a list of all the coin web sites some day.
