Unbelievable. . .

In the Financial Times of London, Yu Qiao, a professor of economics in the School of Public Policy and Management at Tsighua University in Beijing, proposed a plan for the U.S. government to guarantee foreign investments in the United States.
Corsi noted that while WND has reported that the Internet rumors Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had given China an eminent domain claim on U.S. homes and property were untrue, the plan advanced by Yu Qiao must be interpreted as a proposal the Chinese government wants the U.S. to give serious consideration.
"Secretary Clinton may not have pledged American homes to China, but the Obama administration may be willing to grant a financial guarantee as an incentive for China to convert U.S. debt into Chinese direct equity investment to establish Chinese ownership in U.S. successful corporations and potentially profitable infrastructure projects," Corsi wrote. "The Obama administration is now willing to put the U.S. up for sale to China to induce China to keep financing U.S. government deficit spending."
As WND has reported, the U.S. Treasury is preparing to borrow $2.5 trillion this year and another $4 trillion in 2010, an amount that would increase by 65 percent in two years the $10 trillion in national debt accumulated since George Washington was president.
WND has also reported the U.S. government faces more than $65 trillion in unfunded Social Security and Medicare benefits scheduled to be paid out largely to baby boomer retirees in coming decades.
Foreign nations now hold $1.6 trillion of U.S. government debt, with Asia, including China and Japan, holding half of the outstanding public-owned U.S. Treasury bonds.
China now directly or indirectly holds more than $1.2 billion of U.S. Treasury bonds.
If the U.S. dollar were to collapse under the weight of Obama's trillion dollar budget deficits, holders of U.S. debt could face substantial losses that the Financial Times estimated "would devastate Asians' hard-earned wealth and terminate economic globalization."
"The basic idea is to turn Asian savings, China's in particular, into real business interests rather than let them be used to support U.S. over-consumption," Yu Qiao wrote, reflecting themes commonly suggested by Chinese government officials.
Red Alert's author, whose books "The Obama Nation" and "Unfit for Command" have topped the New York Times best-sellers list, said the plan to convert Chinese debt to equity investments in the United States could easily add another $1 trillion to outstanding Obama administration guarantees issued in the current economic crisis.
Corsi received his Ph.D. from Harvard University in political science in 1972. For nearly 25 years, beginning in 1981, he worked with banks throughout the U.S. and around the world to develop financial services marketing companies to assist banks in establishing broker/dealers and insurance subsidiaries to provide financial planning products and services to their retail customers. In this career, Corsi developed three different third-party financial services marketing firms that reached gross sales levels of $1 billion in annuities and equal volume in mutual funds. In 1999, he began developing Internet-based financial marketing firms, also adapted to work in conjunction with banks.
In his 25-year financial services career, Corsi has been a noted financial services speaker and writer, publishing three books and numerous articles in professional financial services journals and magazines.
For more information on China's push to acquire U.S. assets and for financial guidance during difficult times, read Jerome Corsi's Red Alert, the premium, online intelligence news source by the WND staff writer, columnist and author of the New York Times No. 1 best-seller, "The Obama Nation."

Anybody remember when the Chinese bought a stake in Blackrock, the company that sets up mutual funds? China wanted to get its feet wet in buying up financial assets and is still learning its way. The Chinese learned from the Japanese the lesson- don't buy Rockefeller Center or white elephants, buy those things that make money for its owners.
As far as what will China buy or not buy- Just speculation here, no evidence it will happen- Consider the housing meltdown going on in Florida, Arizona, California, etc. Suppose the Chinese, either through the Chinese Government or Chinese Investors acting on behalf of the Chinese Government, came into these hard hit states and offered to buy all of the houses, commercial real estate, closed factories, etc. Whould the states turn down their offer and turn away the possibly last chance to get their states' economy going again?
Once these properties are owned by Chinese investors (or the Chinese government via the Chinese Investors) then these properties can be rented out with the cash flow flowing back to Bejing. Once the commercial real estate market turns around the rents for commercial real estate goes to its owners (again, cash flow to Bejing.)
War with China? Invasion with China?
China has no taste for a world war or sending in troops overseas to claim what is rightfully theirs.
The Chinese honor their ancestors, especially Sun Tzu author of The Art of War
"There is no instance of a country having benefited from prolonged warfare. It is only one who is thoroughly acquainted with the evils of war that can thoroughly understand the profitable way of carrying it on." Fighting the US would be a long drawn out war, something that China would prefer to avoid.
"Again, if the campaign is protracted, the resources of the State will not be equal to the strain." China has no appetite for a long drawn out war, especially one that would be fought hundreds of miles away from the Chinese Mainland. China didn't invade Hong Kong or Macau, they didn't need to. The Chinese Government made money off of these two pieces of Chinese Land ruled as colonies by foreigners. The Chinese could have easily attacked and conquered either one, but China preferred to sit and wait to regain them both, intact and undamaged by war, and profit off of both of them afterwards.
"Thus we may know that there are five essentials for victory: (1) He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight. (2) He will win who knows how to handle both superior and inferior forces. (3) He will win whose army is animated by the same spirit throughout all its ranks. 4) He will win who, prepared himself, waits to take the enemy unprepared. (5) He will win who has military capacity and is not interfered with by the sovereign."
Again, generations of Chinese military men grew up reading the work of Sun Tzu. The modern Chinese Military Commanders most likely also read and re-read The Art of War and use its knowledge in their military planning. Long wars are expensive, they weaken the nation, they should only be considered if the mainland is threatened. contrary to popular belief, the Chinese are no dopes.
China can do any or all of the following- -Sue the US in US Courts via its Chinese investors who own US properties to get the value of its properties or investments, -Fight a dirty electronic war, i. e. millions of Chinese Hackers attack US computer systems, with the official Chinese statement that the hackers acted on their own and not on behalf of the Chinese Government. -Double the price of all products sent to the US claiming the need to do so to stabilize their economy or any other reason
-Dump the US Dollar on the world market causing the US Stock Market to crash as the dollar plummets.
Don't worry about buying ammo to use against the Chinese, Unfortunately for the US, china has the US outgunned financially, economically and manufacturing wise. |

Keys comments +1
In addition, since the one child rule took effect in China, millions of girls have been aborted or thrown out with the trash after birth. The result is that China has an excess of men, aged 35 and under who will not be able to find wives in their country. The most recent estimate I've seen is 30 Million more men than women. I've seen estimates that put the number at 100 Million men.
Perfect cannon fodder.
Corsi has been right on the head time and time again, which is why he is ignored by the MSM.

| I think you hit the nail on the head, Keys, and now that I re-read what I typed above, I think my emotions are running just a wee bit ahead of my brain. Somewhere in my extensive (but cluttered) library, I have a book on what constitutes a just war. I'm thinking that a lot of us in this country might do well to brush up on what's a just war (with regard to defending our homeland--don't get me started on Iraq) since it looks like our country's ownership could get pulled out from under us without a shot being fired. |

Exactly, if I'm the U.S. government I'm going to be looking for hard assets that I can quietly confiscate. Then I will in turn pledge those assets to any foreign government that will to finance our debt. Here are the options I would look at:
1. Property mortgages - Since the government seems to be in the process of taking over the banking industry, they can lay claim to receivables (mortgages) and pledge them as collateral for further debt. Even if the assets had to be turned over (to the Chinese for example), it would be done in such a way that the average homeowner wouldn't even notice.
2. 401K/IRAs - Since these are tax deferred investments, the government may feel that they have at least a partial claim to these assets. At some point the the government will offer to take our retirement assets in exchange for their treasury debt. They might even offer to give something like 120% of their value, which many people will voluntarily take (What a deal! ). At some point we might not even be given the choice.
3. The assets of manufacturing companies that have been taken over (for example GM) - These companies will have billions of dollars in capital assets that foreign governments might find attractive.
4. Energy rights - Very quietly allow Chinese and other foreign companies to drill in some offshore areas restricted to American companies. I wouldn't be surprised if this is already happening.
5. Confiscation of privately held precious metals - This would include GLD and SLV along with holdings of private individuals. This is probably the least likely scenario to occur as it is completely unconstitutional and would probably spark an open revolt.
I'm sure you guys can think of other possibilities.
