CoinHunter has accepted an appointed as Realcent's treasurer. CoinHunter's duties will include the accounting of any free-will donations towards keeping advertisements off of realcent. In addition, he has a plan to get the treasury started through a generous (copper) donation of his own.

I'll let him explain his plan.

Hi everyone...I have volunteered to help out as treasurer for realcent. The startup donation that Ardent referred to is from the Market Harmony contest to name his one pound bar. I was lucky enough to win this, and the prize was serial #2 for the 1 pound bars that MH offers.

It was brought to our attention that the word "whopper" is a trademark of Burger King, so it's up to MH to decide if he goes forward with the use of the name. If he doesnt, I totally support his decision and I would move forward with another item to auction off.

The proceeds from the sale will go towards keeping our site ad free and for any other administrative costs that come up. I dont believe the forum is looking for any donations at the moment, but I will check with the management team to see if this is something we want to offer on an ongoing basis, or if there are certain limited times of the year that we want to accept donations.

My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

Yes, unlike just about everyone or everything in this country now we are NOT currently in need of donations. We live like spartans around here. ;)

Rumor has it that you just got a free Franklin half in the mail in VF-20 or better. Do you know anything about that?

Sorry for that bummer about the "Whopper" trademark. Great minds think alike (CoinHunter and Burger King's VP MArketing)!

As far as I know, it is stated "In God We Trust" on the US dollar. How can I trust this currency if I do not believe in God?

Possession is nine-tenths of the law.

When I give my two cents, they're always copper!

Any trademark is only valid against the products trademarked (like a burger) and then you must use your trademark to keep it valid. I highly doubt that Burger King trademarked Whooper in relation to copper bars and they definately do not use it.

If you open a burger joint and start selling Whoppers then BK can complain about you. If you start selling Whopper copper bars and are not in the burger business they have no claim against you.

While I am not qualified to provide legal advise, this is my personal understanding of trademark law from using it and business education.

“The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.” – George Bernard Shaw.

All I want to know is if Coinhunter has paid all his' taxes. If he didn't, he might just be using this as a springboard to a cabinet job.
