CORRECT Davis! I should have said no 1975Dated Half dollars coins were made. as you said! some of these coins were dual dated 1776/1976 Bicentennial type, I stand corrected PEACE!
Same with Quarters, no 1975's. If you want to see 1975 on a US coin look for Pennies, Nickles or Dimes.
If/When I get asked what year I'm looking for on Half drive by's, I usually tell them 1975. It gets everybody looking and they're more apt to let me buy out of the vault since nobody has one in their tray. I used to say 1987, but actually had a teller produce one from her tray once!
