I would certainly hope so.

Yes, I kept asking at the banks and eventually they had them.
I ask for dollar coins at EVERY cash register I go to!
Every time I stand in fornt of a till at a grocery store, home depot, etc., I say to the cashier, just as they open their drawer and tell me the amount I owe, "Do you have any dollar coins?"
Then I ask for 50 cent pieces also.
I've picked up qwite a few Sacageweas, Susan B. Anthonys, Kennedy Half dollars, George Washington Dollars, and even a very few Eisenhowers, this way.
I even go to banks where I do not have an account (when time allows) and ask first and foremost for Eisenhowers and Kennedy half dollars.
If I go in during a slow time, I find that most tellers are kind and generous with their time. Some tellers even go down the line and ask their co-workers for Eisenhowers, etc. for me.
If I go in During Lunch hour or on Friday Afternoon, I get the cold shoulder, but that is my fault, not the teller's.
................................................. I think Norman Livergood's Essay, "Dollar Imperialism" is the best summary out there. You must be logged in to see this link. |

Yep, I bought 425 of them today.. and I didn't even need a cart to haul them out. They would have sold me more, but with the 320 customer wrapped rolls of pennies they had for me I had kinda reached my funding limit, as well as my carrying limit of what I could comfortably carry out without my cart.

Here is a thought or plan of mine.
What if I go to 200+ banks and ask for a box of these in hopes of perhaps finding one or a few of the $1500+ per coin error coins that were produced?
I mean, this would be a free shot at making a great score like the guy in Miami who bought $1,000 worth of coins and is now sitting on 2-3 million of error coins. |

I think the going rate for the error coins is down to 100-150 or so. You will need a good chunk of capital to do it. I like the premise though. You buy it at face, hope to win the lottery, but worst case scenario you still have your money. Maybe you will get lucky and find an error coin in your first $1000 box.
