Is there a market for non-numismatic canadian nickel bullion coins, in canadian coin stores?

If I get your question - are you asking if in Canada there may be a market at Coin Dealers to buy/sell .999Ni coins as bullion, similar to the way "90% Silver Bags" are treated both in the USA and Canada?

Very interesting question. I'm thinking no....most folks don't know much about Ni.....while they do see Silver as a Precious Metal....most folks continue to treat the .999Ni as just another 5 cent piece.....which since you cant melt it.....that is all it really is for the time being.

I still think it is a very interesting question and do look forward to what others might have to say.

The coin dealers I'm familliar with tend to have all their pre-81 nickels sorted by date in tubes and sell them for anywhere from 25 cents to hundreds of dollars based on date, rarity and condition. I've never seen them bought or sold as bullion. Yet.
