It's good to know I've got rifles chambered for the #1 and #2 most effective cartridges.

| Interesting tidbit, I just made my daily early-morning call to Wally World to see if they had any 9mm ammo in stock so I could show up at 8 a.m. when they can start selling it in Indiana (they're totally out--pretty much all the time now), and since I'm starting to shop for a shotgun as well, I asked what they had in multipacks of 12-gauge shells. Interestingly enough, a 100-pack of shells (don't remember the brand) was the same price as a 100-count box of 9mm rounds--$20.97. This will make it easier for me to work out my ammo budget for both my pistol and my long guns as well! |

Can't sell ammo until 8 a.m.? When is the cut-off time? I don't think we have that here, maybe though. Can't say if I've attempted a midnight ammo run. Maybe I'll give it a shot. Of course they would have to actually HAVE some ammo....
Deal
p.s. Last time they had the 100 count boxes around here they were $19.96 or something. |

Agreed.
Or how about the 300 Win. mag or Weatherby ?
There is definitely a whole range of different situations requiring different choices out there.

.22 is the perfect training round. You won't develop a "flinch" like you will shooting a .44 mag. Also, I dont know ANYONE that wants even 1 .22 round coming at their head or face. CCI Stingers or mini mags are AWSOME for the size.
Another plus to the lowly .22 is the low report. In a city or urban enviroment you pop off a 9mm or .357 and it WILL turn heads. .22 is often mistaken for firecrackers. |

| All 3 Walmarts in town are out of handgun ammo except for 3 boxes of 25 auto. The Gander Mountain in town is running very low too. The guy working there told me they got in 60 cases of 9mm on Wednesday, and it was gone in 2 hours even with the 3 box per customer limit. |

Personally I think ole wally world is "attempting to help" the gun banners by just not restocking. "See we support the 2nd. We still sell ammo, see there on the price tag on the empty shelf" JMHO.
I am seeing it at both Walmart, Gander Mountain, and the little firearms shop just outside of town. I hope it's temporary but just in case, I bought 350 rounds yesterday just to have some. |
