"By endowing our most valued sources of news we would free them from the strictures of an obsolete business model and offer them a permanent place in society, like that of America's colleges and universities," he wrote in a recent opinion piece in The New York Times.
Holy-freakin'-cow. Would that mean that my local rag would now have a "Gender Studies" section instead of a sports page...?
If the papers had made even modest effort to contain editorial content to the EDITORIAL PAGE they wouldn't be in the shape they are. As it is, the entire content is editorial. Green this, Gays that, Bush is evil, Obama is your saviour, HEALTHCARE, HEALTHCARE, HEALTHCAR....
Political correctness killed those papers which are dying, good riddance to them.

Rush was talking about one of the big NYC newspapers last week and he said that the Sunday edition costs more than a share of their stock. I believe it was the NY Times.
The papers helped cause this panic that's holding the econony down and now they've ended up stepping in there own pile! |
