$48 or so melt value.

| Ugly looking things aren't they, these ones seem pretty worn, if I can get them for a good price I will, prefer .500 or better most of my silver is .835 or 925 or 999 but always looking for deals, only 1 bid on it at the moment at 99p sure it will go up plenty in the remaining 30hrs, I'll stick a just below spot price bid in in the last 30seconds |

I think Halves give the biggest bang for the buck when roll searching for Ag vs. face value. |

Hi there-
Pretty rocky- I'm jealous when I hear of great silver score that aren't mine... One thing- have you ever considered getting a metal detector to detect in the uk?

| Just got them for equivalent of 34$ including postage, that's way under melt, they were very badly listed and ended at 10.30pm on a Monday so I got a bargain, one guy made a sniper bid in last 5 seconds hoping to take it down but I'd posted a maximum bid that was higher, well chuffed, they aren't pretty really but silver under spot is always great |

You got a good deal on those. Some don't like war nickels because appearently the Magnesium in them is hard to get out. I figure that no one will care when silver hits X or so. At any rate I like diversity in my coins so I've got a few war nic rolls - mostly traded Canadian pure nickels for them with people who sort nickels on here. Even found three war nickel mixed into Canadian nickel rolls so far (my favorate finds in nickels).
Check the Silver Coin forum for reports on US nickel sorting. I hear Ardent has a few war nickels, he just does not know which box they are in. |

| I used to sort nickels until I reached a point where I was only getting one war nickel for every 3 boxes. |

| I had beginners luck with war nickels late last year, I sorted about $100 in CWR's from 5 different banks ($20 from each bank) over a period of a few weeks and found about 20 war nickels, or about 1 for every 5 rolls. Ever since then I've sorted an additional $300 face in boxes and found nothing. I'm going back to CWR's when I want to get more. |
