my sister is a teller at a bank and the other day some lady came in and exchanged 3 rolls of silver nickels and 3 rolls of wheat pennys for cash. she said she will send them to me, how much are they worth and what should i look for.

Look for a big mint mark on the back of the Nickles (over the dome), those have Ag in them.
Look for something other than the Lincoln Memorial on the back of the pennies, those are "Wheats", unless they have a picture of British Royalty on the front side.
They are most probably worth more than what value is imprinted on the coin.
How much more depends on a few different things...

There's profit if you melt things!!

Ummm, I would say that three rolls of silver nickles would run from 90-100 dollars right now. The wheats if all common would be a little over 2.00.

Silver nickels dont really have any key dates, but there are varieties like the 1943/2-P, 1943-P doubled eye, and 1945-P doubled die reverse. For the wheats, I would get a price guide or Red Book to see what the values are. There are too many to cover in that series. there .056 ounces of silver per silver nickle. They are 35% silver. However because of the lower percantage they usually sell for a discount to their actual value
