Hello to all, This is my first post. I sort pennies and have accrued about $100 face in coppers. Is anyone still buying over face at this point with copper down? For the seasoned vets-what is the best avenue to sell coppers assuming people are buying? Thanks for your help. Turtleman
The market is pretty slow. It looks like here is some activity on E-BAY at around 1.45 cents each. I doubt there are enough buyers at that price for more than a couple of us and nobody wants to sell lower unless they are desperate. So most of us are just sitting on our hoards and waiting for the copper price to turn back up.
Im sitting and holding at the moment. I do have one listing not on the Bay at 1.9 cents each that gets exposure to Google. The listing is free and that is my lowest price I am willing to part with my time and effort considered.

Welcome to the forum!
There are buyers at just above face value right now but most people want to sell at a higher price.
You must be logged in to see this link. was buying $25 boxes/bags for over face not to long ago. Give them a call and see what they will pay you. (shipping costs are a killer to your profit though)
Last week on a Wednesday and a Friday I saw a Craigslist ad for $115 for $100 minimum wanted pre 1982 listing. Followed 2 days later by $57 for $50 minimum listing. Several towns over from me. I did not respond although I'm almost curious enough to sacrifice some coppers just to like have a live conversation - you know?
Sounds like you might want to check it out. The price is probably about wholesale right now and you wouldn't have to pay shipping. It may be slightly negotiable if you deliver larger quantities like a couple of tons. Maybe you can get him up to $60 a bag or so. It may be that he is flipping them for a small profit and does not have much room to go higher.
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.
