I was at my dump bank today and the teller told me that an old guy (70 or 80)came in yesterday and dumped some coins that had been his fathers. I guess he dumped over 200 dollars in change and most of it was pennies. She said he did keep one old quarter he found ... an 1883!! But the rest of it just went into the coin counter:( Coin goes to the FED is locked up and nothing they can do about it:(

Find out who their coin service is from and make sure you get unopened boxes of coin from a bank/credit union that uses that service. I found several of my marked pennies 2 weeks later in an unopened Brinks box.

coppernicus and me use the same dump bank (TCF). The machines they use drop the coins in steel boxes on wheels.

When they change out boxes the machine prints out a total from the last change out and the reciept goes into the box and then it is locked shut.

I have tried many a time, but they will not sell them.

That's a good idea. TCF uses Total armored to pick up the steel boxes. I have no idea where they go after that.

I don't remember who delivers their wrapped coin. It is CWI wrapped.

Many banks use the same processor for both pickup and delivery. You should probably start buying as many CWI boxes as you can. There is no downside, and you might just get lucky.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.
