So I am working on a box and found a 71d 1/2 that seems to either be silver (doubt it) chrome or silver plated.
Has anyone run into one of these?
I am leaning towards chrome plated, when moving the coin around under a bright light it will look golden in some spots then go to silver, depending on the angle.

Hi there-
Drop it on the ground with a 90%. If they sounds the same, it could be from proof set, and therefore silver. If not, and it fails the "bell test," it was probably some clown in his garage spraying copper halves with silver paint.

Only when they CAN'T have it, ......THEN they'll want it.
I love Cents. If you get an UNC box, you win. If you get a regular circ. box, you win. If you get a zinc box, you don't lose....so you still win. |

The 71 has the most silver looking edge of all the non-silvers. IMO |
