If its 1967 or earlier its silver.

I change with the times-
but like silver coins found in your change
I stay the same.

Is searching dimes worth it. If you search a box(2500 dimes) and find one silver dime you are ahead less than $1.00.

You don't have to be the BEST you just have to be.......SLICK

Finding "free" silver is a hobby that is not only fun, but also nets a small profit.

If you want to make money during your free time, get a second job (if you can find one these days), but don't expect to have as much fun.

I enjoy finding "free" silver as much as the next guy. I have been doing real well in the 1/2's lately and think I would rather buy the halves than the dimes. I might pick up a box of dimes and give it a try. I will probably get a "sweet" box with 10 silvers in it and be hooked on dimes too, and then have to order pennies, dimes, and halves.

About getting a job....can I get one working 1 day a week at five different banks sorting thru the coins in the vault?

You don't have to be the BEST you just have to be.......SLICK

Halves are probably a better return for your time, but it depends on your location and you coin source. Might as well gives dimes a try just for the heck of it.

6 rolls.. 1 silver. I like those percentages! Seems I always get either 0, 1 or 2 silvers no matter how many hundreds of dollars worth of dimes I sort in a batch.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

I've been getting dimes on Sundays from some of my half dollar dump bank branches, anywhere from 8 to 10 boxes depending on what they'll sell ME. I have a couple branches that have a style of coin counter that I won't use (too slow) so I try to concentrate my dime purchases there. One is a new branch and I been getting 2 or 3 boxes a week there for a month, remembering the time I got $3K once and then later $6K in dimes all at once- I did well. Well since I seem to do better the more I get at one place I asked my nice teller there if there would be a problem ordering 10 boxes a week for ME and I would get them every Sunday. She said no problem but would have to ask her Manager and let ME know the next Sunday when I came. Last Sunday I was to get the news, not only will they not get ME 10 a week but she is forbiden to sell ME more than one box a week. Talk about F%@#$N yourself! She was also to explain to ME that this was a courtesy not an obligation for the bank blah blah blah. I told her to tell her Manager to be there at 11AM next Sunday and we can discuss the prospects of my mortgage going somewhere else- or she can load 10 boxes of dimes into my truck for ME.
So Sunday didn't start off real well, instead of making one stop for dimes it took 4 to get 8 boxes. So I get home and wanna see a sliver of silver before doing anything else so I start. First box, second roll, got a Merc. Cool can't stop now, silver poppin up pretty frequent- all told that box gave up 9 Rosies and that Merc- dream box for ME. Next box gave up 10 again, 2 were Mercs. Needless to say my schedule got pushed aside till the dimes were done. Total of 41 Rosies and 3 Mercs kept ME a lil shy of topping off another full roll of Rosies so yesterday I went back around trying to find more boxes from that date, could only beg one but it gave up 5 more, enough to finish that roll. I don't know if I will continue dimes forever but days like that make it at least "seem" worthwhile. I wish I could have bought that bag before it got dumped and mixed with all them clads. HH Mark

Only 1 1958 silver dime tonight in a $250 box. 2 newer Canadians non-silver.
Also had one roll that was 4 dimes short. It was String & Sons machine rolled, in an unopened box with small peep holes in them. I showed it to the wife and she opened the roll before I had a chance to stop her. I think I would have had recourse had it not been opened.

Canadian dimes have silver up through 1968. I have two 65's. Silver content in dime boxes fluctuates to the extreme. I have sorted through 5 boxes and all of them skunks and then there was the time I found one box that had 32 silver dimes. Here's a tip for loomis boxes of dimes...(the box with the fifty sight holes on top). Lets say you find a box that has 6 dimes, which is a really good find for dimes. On the bottom of the loomis box, there's a date of inspection and an inspector number. If you are in good with the tellers, you would want to go around and ask for boxes with that same number that was on the 6 dime box. When I found that 32 dime box (a real rare thing that I don't expect to happen to me again), I went around and found two more boxes with the same numbers. The first box had 8 dimes and the second had 7. Happy hunting.
