2 Proofs ( 1974 & Bicentenial)
Now I am addicted to pennies and halves..... |

I recently bought five boxes of dimes with the same inpection date and three other boxes with different numbers. The five boxes with the same number had an average of 3.8 silver dimes per box. In my opinion, thats a good return for dimes. The three boxes with different numbers only had 1 dime total. So I went back to these banks and ask the tellers to sell me the boxes with the same date on the bottom of the box as did those 5 boxes that gave me the 3.8 average. I was able to locate 5 more boxes with that same date. Here are the results:
Box 1 - 3 roos
Box 2 - 1 merc
Box 3 - 5 roos
Box 4 - 5 roos
Box 5 - 2 roos
This gives an average of 3.2 silver dimes per box, which is still better than average. I have to be careful in asking to much from the tellers. That has gotten me in trouble in the past.
I got a good score on halves today. I got $430.00 from colonial bank, $250.00 from one credit union, $40.00 from another credit union, and $46.00 from compass bank. This is $766.00 in cwrs. I have sorted $120.00 of the $430.00 from colonial and have found 21 forty percenters. No silver in the $40.00 from the credit union. I will post the totals when I get through.
I picked up 2 more boxes of dimes and I have a little over 6 boxes to get me through the weekend without withdrawals :-) Happy sorting everyone!
Update #1...Just opened a roll that had 19 forty percenters! The next roll had 15! More to follow..

Sorry I missed out on the tally project from the year's start. I have no idea what my amounts are from Jan 1 forward.

That probably is the best way to keep the totals, by month.
It also may preserve a few brain cells rather than trying to keep a runing total for 12 months. |

I got the 6 40% at the first bank I went to. The teller only had $9.00 in halves....6 out of 18 were silver. Should have called it a day after that

| One 500 dollar box i waited 3 weeks for. It didnt get good until the last 7 rolls in the box. I found a nice 67 silver clad, A nice 64 silver A WALKING LIBERTY (my first ever walking liberty) and a 1944 penny that i think is a great britian penny. Oh yea a clad 2004 proof and 3 2005 nifc |

sorted one box this weekend and found 3 40%
The last roll also had a Congress Bicentennial half sticking out of the one end. It is not worn at all, but does not have the original luster to it. Still a nice find. |
