$200 in Toonies yielded nothing interesting - never found anything in Toonies
$75 in Loonies - found the first 2009 I've seen so I can claim in the contest. Also testing to see if any US$1 are showing up (none yet) f
$100 in Quarters - just a few US coins - no silver
$150 in Dimes yielded two 80% silver including one King.
$100 in Nickels yielded a nice dish of pure nickel, a roll and a half of US nickels, 3 12-sided queens and 1 chrome plated 1953 war nickel (these are VERY hard to find in circulation)
Also got 2 X CDN 0.50 (no silver) and a 2001 US 1/2 from the Canadian teller. First US 1/2 I've bought in a Canadian bank.

Teller says, "OOOO, this ones silver".  I thought I was in trouble, but she nicely handed me all 4 half dollars. Actually, I got another silver clad (more tarnished) also. 50% silvers is a good ratio.

To answer the question about toonies - there is nothing to hunt in toonies. In fact, if I found anything I would complain! I occasionally buy toonies when a bank does not have nickels etc. I then trade the toonies for coins I can hunt at another bank. It seems to be easier to buy coins with coins for some reason. Maybe they assume I'm a merchant trying to balance out? I don't know. |

Well back to the new bank for two more today. Last week had started showing decent silver and I had hopes. We got a new guy in town ordering massive amounts at my old banks and dumping huge amounts everywhere. Teller: "are you guys a team?"
Not good at all.
Anyway
First box was game tokens without the slightest thing of interest.
Second box also gamer's but crammed with silver.
Amazing amount of Franklins and must have been part of a sorted stash.
Not a single mint mark in the bunch.
