So I went to a bank I am not a customer with and asked if they had any halves, left a business card. Got a call from the manager today, they said they have a $500.00 bag, but there is no silver in it, they take that out. But what the heck, I said I will take anyways...

| Mr. Wizard1, it would be interesting to know what general area you are in, and what bank skunked you for 2000 halves. A pattern may emerge. I am from Oregon, and I was recently told that WellsFargo in this area, along with several other banks, is serviced by a company that pulls the silver. I will continue to test that theory for a couple more weeks, but YTD, I have NEVER found any silver from a WellsFargo bank in northern Oregon. What is your general area, and what bank skunked you in 2,000 halves? |

I got a box of $500 in halves yesterday. It yeilded;
6 franklins
5 walkers
1 1964
4 40%
I have never had the Franklins and walkers outnumber the 40%! |

I believe I read in an earlier post that this person is from Central Florida. I sent a PM to see if they were anywhere near me but no reply yet to the PM. I asked because I had gotten a few rolls to search from my bank looking for my son's birth year and the rolls were marked with a black line on them and I wondered if they could have come from this person.

| In a $753.50 bag of loose halves I found 3 90% all 1964-D, 8 40% and 3 nickels. I'll gladly take the $1.35 loss in face value to find silver like this. |

Decided to change things up for a bit.
Searched $500 in quarters, $50 in dimes, $30 in nickels
NO SILVER. Was a good change from searching only halves though. Not really looking forward to my 10 box order on wednesday. |
