Just found my first Indian, in my first box of 09. Going through my spreadsheet, it took me about 120k pennies to find this Indian. To contrast, I'm also the member who found the flying eagle last summer. It I found after having only gone through about 30k. Beginners luck? I tend to think so...
Anyhow, Indian is a 1908 with a barely recognizable date. Looks like it had spent a fair amount of time buried, or at the bottom of a lake somewhere. Cull at best, but it's still an Indian. I'll try to get pics up once I've unboxed my camera (just moved into a new place - took a break to go through one of the 8 boxes I've been sitting on).

The wife found a 1888 in change today. So now it is in my collection. Did find an Indian about 3 years ago while checking bags of cents. So that two to date. |

Found 1896 yesterday after hand sorting 170,000 pennies to get $550 in copper. This is 3rd as I found two last year after sorting 49,000. I feel great still. |

I just found the entire tribe! My grandma got me $20 worth from a bank in a neighboring town for my birthday, and I sat down and did them. Copper averaged 50%, but the strange thing was there was no Wheats at all. However, I found two 1881's. That's right. Two. 2. Couldn't believe it. |

Haven't found one in almost 1 year. Since Brinks now delivers String & Sons paper rolls that are my main source, my older coin counts have decreased. When someone posts a find, maybe they can provide their location and whether it was CWR, Brinks, String & Sons, or other. |

I found a 1906 IH in my second ever brinks box. (Beginner's Luck...?) It's in nearly the same condition as the one pictured above. |

Congratulations, and welcome.

Finally!!! Whoah- After 3 months and a million sorted, Friday the 13th was a real gem. I found not not only my first IH but the second as well! I don't know grading very well but the first one is a beautiful 1905 in great condition and the second is a decent looking 1906. They were both from different Brinks boxes and only about 2 mins apart. I could hardly believe my eyes when the first was spotted...and then #2 right after...What a treat! |
The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; second is war. Both bring a temporary (and false) prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin. But both are the refuge of political and economic opportunities. |

I sorted for about 15 months before I found my first IH in November. Since then, I have averaged finding one a month. My latest was a 1905 with part of the "LIBERTY" in the headress still visible. Three total so far this year. |

I also got the Indian rush! Hit a 1907 the other day in a brinks box. At first I passed it off as another foreign coin but did the double take and got all giddy! This is my first pulled from the wild. It was in pretty good condition, makes the sorting worth the hunt!
