Where you talk and think about WTSHTF I have seen it in person...

In Cuba it was very hard to find any kind of clothing and what you could find was very expensive... one of the "ladies" that I was dating was wearing the bottom part of a bikiny because she was unable to find panties.

Last week I read an article that said that now we have only 30% of the clothing coming in that we had before.....there are many ships parked of the coast waiting for their customers to come up with the cash in order to unload.......as you know what we now wear now comes from overseas.

Now then, to the meat of this thread.........for the past years I have been going to the "Senior Thrift Store" in my Micky Mouse one mule of a town where for two dollars you can fill a plastic grocery bag with all the clothing that you want.

Here we have many rich retirees from CA that decided to live here...the only thing is that there is nowhere to wear your nice clothes so that when they buy the farm their spouses donate to the thrif store.

I have about 200 of the two dollar bags and........wonders of wonders, many of them with clothing itims that still have the original store stickers..... and all with famous brads.

I am able to put 12 pairs of pants into one of those plastic bags and I found one pair that was priced at $85.00 made by Haggard and also many Lee's dungarees.

Where many of you want to trade Wisky, firearm and bullets for what ever you need I will feel safer by trading "used" clothes.

If you would like to talk some more about what is to come and how to get ready then let me know.....but remember

I don't know what you're point is, Ponce, but I think most people on this sight that post on SHTF situations just like to comment on things that could be used to barter, which when you get down to it, could be any consumable item that you could get anywhere now. Most people would want to concentrate on things that would fly off the shelves first. It could be whiskey, firearms, bullets or even used clothes, like you suggest. I personally am voting on toilet paper. Toilet Paper.

Hahahahahaha Crash.......I am holding 1,758 rolls of toilet paper, sorry to say that most of the are "Charming" and I found a better one "Crown" and cheaper.

As far as "wiskey, firearms and bullets?".....first they will drink your whiskey and then return your bullet by air mail with the weapons that you gave them.

A drunken fool will do what ever they have in order to take your whiskey.

I really, really, really would like for you guys to go to Cuba and stay there for six or maybe even three months and that would give you an idea of what it will be like here, but like I said before .......... 100 times worse.

Castro is called a "dictator" and that could be true........but......at least everyone in Cuban has a roof over their head and don't go hungry, like in the US, where there are many that now sleep in their cars.

I have been in the US for the past 56 years but I used to go to Cuba all the time to see my people.....I am in contact with two different people in Cuba who have WWW contact.

If you have a message for anyone in Cuba then let me know by pm and i'll be more than happy to pass on the info.

The first time that I went back to Cuba, after 21 years, I took them to the only super market in the island and where you could use only US currency.......and let me tell you, they were like kids in a candy store.

I spended over $1,600 on that one trip and two security guards were following us around all the time hahahahahahahah......anyway, we went to the meat department and asked them for a ham legg, the guy showed me a whole legg and asked me "How much would you like" and I told him "The whole leg" hahahahahahahhaha the guy looked at me like if I was a Martian.

Because of the new policies in Cuba I no loger go.....but.....in 2012 my dad will be 100 and I will be going to see him......uffffffffffffffff i'll be 72.......what an old fart.

As a Canadian I have traveled to Cuba only as a vacation destination. However I am always fascinated by the culture and the "system" they have there. Whenever I go, I always try to bring along some simple items for the locals (which are, as you know, extravagances for them). You are correct, it may indeed be a glimpse of what is to come for the USA.

And that's why my for car garage plus two storage sheds are full of anything and everything that I can lay my hands on....... I don't know what will happen and that's why I want to try and be ready for all.

I have always wondered why people who seem to dislike my country, but live here, don't just leave. They show up and take advantage of all the benefits and freedoms without maybe realizing that in their native countries they would be arrested or even worse for their actions.

If people want to hoard everything under the sun for whatever reason, that's fine with me. But, unless you have firearms and bullets, all the pants and toilet paper in the world will not guarantee your safety.... I for one would never trade away guns or ammo.

Deal

p.s. Ponce, these comments aren't necessarily directed at you. It's just that your comments usually tend to get me going.... Nothing personal in this instance.

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Well Deal, to tell you the truth I really don't know what you are talking about...if in some way you re talking about me then all that I have to say is that my dislike for the "present" governmnet has nothing to do with the people of America.........and the same goes for making the diffence between the Jews and the Zionists, they are not the same.

By the way, how many here have at least one purple heart while serving in the armed forces? I have two of them ... also I was born a US citizen (US mother) and have been here for the past 56 years.

So, my question is.......why do I get you going? if it is because of my feeling about the Zionists then there is no need to answer me.......thanks and happy new year :)

I wouldn't stock whiskey to barter with. In my opinion it's not going to be the social drinkers who will be looking for whiskey if the sh!t hits the fan. And I don't drink so it's not something that I want.

I would stock some. A shot or a beer while shootin the breeze, trading, or whatever can go a long way on gratitude, open up conversation etc.

Kinda like carrying a pack of smokes just to offer someone to break the ice, or a lighter to light ciggerettes just to make a good impression.

Plus it is a sedative more or less, to calm the nerves. I wouldn't see it as a trade item as much as a tool. Plus I like me a sip or two now and then.
