I went to cash a check I had received for x-mas at a bank of america. When I asked if they had any half dollars they acted real funny and wouldn't take my check! I don't have an account there but the check was drawn on BOA. What Banks are people having the most luck with (bags,CWR,boxes). Lets dump on the unlucky ones.

Wait a minute, they refused to even cash the check? I thought BoA took a finger print or two, then charges you $5 or something as a cashing fee? I do not use then for ANYTHING. Anti-BoA here.... It doesn't hurt to have an account. It doesn't always help though.

Deal

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Hi there-

Get the money in your hand first. Then ask for coins.

wags

Only when they CAN'T have it, ......THEN they'll want it.

I love Cents. If you get an UNC box, you win. If you get a regular circ. box, you win. If you get a zinc box, you don't lose....so you still win.

I went to a neighboring town and asked for $300 in halves. The teller looked at me and said, "To buy?" Ha. I don't know what I enjoy more: The sorting of the coins or the reactions I get when a 16-year-old buys them. Tough luck about your check, though. I don't use BoA for anything, mostly because we don't have one. I do have a US Bank that I personally think is run by the Good Lord himself. They are wonderful to me.

This is just a suggestion. When you go in and ask for halves at any bank, ask the question in such a way that it makes them think that YOU are doing THEM a favor...."Do you have any half dollars that you would like to get rid of?" This will prompt them to think of those halves they have to count every day at closing. Most tellers like getting rid of them.
