I have 2 pennies (1 1920 wheatstalk; 1 1977) with errors on them,...it's like too much copper was used in producing them or the mold didn't work properly. I don't know what they're worth,...but I have pics of them. And, of course, I want lots of money for them. Lol.

I found 1 of them in change I received. I found the other one in some pennies sent to me buy a dealer,...he was supposed to send me 3 lbs,...but he sent me 3 pennies. LOL. And one of them was an error penny. The weight is probably real similar to the weight of a regular penny but they sure are interesting,...and I want bucks for them. Pics forthcoming. Thanks.

10-4 on the '77, it's a cud. The '20 is a nice type of minting error, possibly a very cracked die before it became totally unusable (pre-cud?). Are you going to keep it, or are you looking to flip it quick? I'd carry it with me and stop by coin shops, start a conversation and casually bring it out for inspection during the conversation. Thanks for the pics! |

the 1977 is a nice CUD...the 1920 I'm not too sure about but it looks like it had acid on it. Is there any chance you could weigh it?
if it weighs 3.11 grams then it might really be an error, possibly struck through something. if it's under weight, that means there is metal missing from acid or corrosion or something like that. |

| You should probably go to You must be logged in to see this link. first. Then as you find out more of what you have, go to ebay and list them as what you will find out from that web site. coppercoins web site is a site that is dedicated to the Lincoln Cent. The author of now 2 books runs that site and is always willing to discuss your coins with you. Those are fairly decent mint errors but would probably only bring about $10 on ebay but worth a try as long as you want to get rid of them. |

| The 77 is def a cud, the 20 could be a lamination error. i have some lam errors that r similar. a reasonable est would be $8-10 for the wheatie and $3-5 for the lmr. not an expert, but have been collecting for awhile.best advice, get an estimate from a reputable dealer in error coins. ken potter comes to mind |

Good advice, and welcome to the forum.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms.
