IF, The SHTF ever Happens.. If wont matter too much what you have saved. Unless you live in a cave miles under the ground. Because it will be hell on the surface. You better get a group of 10 and Hide like you never hidden in your life. You better be afraid, very fearful, you will need it to displine yourself and your group. I dont believe too many will make it by themselves.
The populations are so great now if the SHTF it would be Pandemonium-Chaos. =-/ |

The key is to lay low and stay away from stupid people when TS begins to HTF. Then after the first wave hits, get to a safe place where you'll be around other like-minded people. I think the key is to have a plan and a place to go. Too many people don't have either one. But when something major happens that precipitates unrest, probably the worst time to make any major moves is when the first wave of unrest hits. Wait for the first bouts of stupidity to subside, then move quietly. Planning ahead will help alleviate a lot of problems down the road, and while preppers aren't going to be immune from encounters with stupid people, we'll have the mindset, resources and communities to be able to cope as TSHTF. |

| Us Houstonians experienced a little of this after Hurricaine Ike...This area of 6 million people was completely without power and many without water. It was an experience that I could write about for hours....after the storm I got a call from one of my friends saying he was coming to Houston to bring supplies and asked what can I bring you....I responded...eggs(french toast), tortilla chips and lots of hot sauce(salsa), coke(drinkable). we keep a pretty good stock pile since we have been through this before but the power outage was enormous...some were without for more than two weeks...in September in Houston ...We had a generator that powered fives homes for 4 days, minimal power use of course. I now have five generators and lots of spare parts...wonder how many generators Hoard has? Like I said I could GO ON AND ON....but the list is good, heed it....stock up while you can and remember to rotate the items that need rotating. |

WTSHTF I'll be on a boat with the real plan on staying at sea till you all kill yourselves off.

How big a boat ya running? More importantly how fast will it go, and how much armament does it have? Because when TSHTF your not going to be alone on the seas. No coast guard patrolling will mean that people will turn to pirating real quick. There’s no place to hide out on the water, and don’t let them catch you tied up in a cove. Just a bit of food for thought, it’s real easy to wind up sleeping with the fishes as it is now, in hard times…

In the aftermath of a societal breakdown, the Earth as we know it would be dramatically altered, and even those who had stockpiled and survived the witless and murdered would only last for awhile longer, until the merciless roving bands of armed renegades found the holdouts and took by force what they wanted. Good to prep? Sure. What can it harm? But maybe an amoral Hell's Angel adept at wielding an AK47 would have a better chance than one of us might. Preps are useless and pointless if you can't protect/hide them. |

All the more reason to keep stocking up stuff in a safe hiding place. Don't back down just because of the possibility that something could happen. |

| I thought about the boat idea and then thought about how much ammo you would need to have on board. I thought a very very large barge or cargo ship could work if you had the right people with you. I have a family member who sold everything and bought a cargo ship and now lives on the ship and ships stuff. I thought it was pretty neat. I havent been on it yet though. |
