Silver goal for the year was to end with 200 oz of silver. Figured it out last night. I have 180 oz. My total investment for it is $650. That works out to about $3.60 per ounce.

My current mix is:

40% Kennedys 67%
90% Kennedys 27%
ASE 6%

I would like to buy another 20 oz befor the years end. What would everyone recommend? It liiks like Eagles at $15, Silver rounds at $12.50, or 40% silver at $10-12?

Very nice pile of silver. I'm pretty sure that I have around 145oz not including my collectable silver.

Hi there-

JMO, but I'd stay away from buying more 40%. Doesn't seem to have the same appeal among investors on ebay and with coin dealers as 90%.

If silver rockets back up I'll sell my 40% and maybe buy another gun.

Rodzm- If I were going to pay $14 for a bar, I would pay $15 for and eagle.

Kieblera- my stash doesn't include some collector silver either.

Bluegill- yes all from sorting except a 2 rolls of 40% that I bought a couple of years ago. I also bought a few Eagles this summer. They drove my average up.

Wagsthadog- I tend to agree with you about the 40%, but where else can I get silver at close to spot?

As it was recommended to me, it's not a great idea to post "what you have" on a public forum.

Bullion is Bullion, pick up closest to spot you can, unless you want to pay for higher premium stuff.

It really depends on what you want and makes you happy.

I got nuthin'....

Deal

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Excellent advice. Mine is not stored at the house. I keep it in a safety deposit box. That said, I think that I answered my own question. Another batch of 40% would make it crowded in there.

Where can you get art bars for 12.5? I'd be all over them. I've gotten a lot of nice pieces that were thrown into the art bar pile. (colorized eagles, dirty eagles, maple leafs, engelhard loaf bars, a jackson metals bar, and then some of those buffallo nickel one oz, and some other stuff.)

Now art bars are $15 here (yes even if there is a date!!), so...I'd be all over 12.5. Silver is silver.

Right now I'm stocking up on eagles and maple leafs because they are the same price as generic art bars!

You have to look at every coin shop and pawn shop that's out there!
The "Coin and Jewelery Palace" (south of Seattle, WA) sold me Eagles for $12.65 last Wednesday.
(It helps if you can remember where you got the last good deal, as you age.)

There's profit if you melt things!!
