Whoohoo - continued supply shortages pushed nickel over 17 bucks a pound in late trading today, before falling back slightly to 16.95

I got lucky on Monday. I walked into a local coin shop and bought 600 pre 1980 Canadian Nickels for face value.
It felt like winning a slot machine payout. I put in $30 in Federal Reserve Paper and out came I found a few old steel nickles from WWII in there also.
I also got from the same guy, about 10 pounds of old all copper Canadian Pennies also for face value.
In both cases these were presorted good stuff for face value.

Has anyone noticed the kitco pages that graph out historical supplies at the London Metal Exchange?

I think I spot a suspicious and glaring anamoly.
Look at the 6 month LME Nickle stocks chart You must be logged in to see this link.
Is there a glaring weirdness around Sept 25th, 26th, 27th, 2006?
What could have caused that?
