I just heard about this from a RidleyReport off of youtube. I'm not sure about it and certainly dont wish to vouch for it...but thought some might wish to check it out.

Kind of scary. The lakota indian tribe is making an effort to secede from the U.S.
I suspect (especially after seeing the coins) this is related

Anyone know where these banks are located, or where the tribe is located? If they're close by, I might have to stop in.

they are some nice looking coins...kinda pricey if not ordered in bulk but shipping is reasonable ($4.95) for small orders.

I think this is a really new venture for them. I believe the press release they used to announce this venture came out today. With that said they might not have many "branch locations" however they should have something if they talk about storage in their vaults.

The Sioux Indians have their reservations in North and South Dakota according to wikipedia..."The Lakota are the western-most of the three Sioux groups, occupying lands in both North and South Dakota. The seven branches or "sub-tribes" of the Lakota are Sicangu, Oglala, Itazipco, Hunkpapa, Miniconjou, Sihasapa, and Ooinunpa"

Their land involved is actually located in 5 states. They aren't necessarily seceding. They are basically unilaterally withdrawing from all the land treaties that were signed to due a long train of abuses and non-payment. They were at one time offered a multi million dollar deal to settle it, but the allotted money still sits in the bank to this day. They never accepted or touched a penny of it. The Lakota have a website that explains.

I believe the U.N. has recognize them and their right to sovereignty. Now here's a thinker for you. What if... what if the Lakota do in fact win this and are recognized as rightful owners of the lands held by the u.s. government.

They have previously stated that they do not wish to reclaim the lands from established families, but have threatened to put a lien on all local state and federal lands in the 5 state areas that are inside their borders. Now their is vast resources like oil in the ground in some of those areas. Here's the thinker. What if, as a free and internationally recognized entity they decide to develop the natural resources available to them and negotiate the contract with say... Gazprom. Wouldn't that be a kick in the teeth to have the soviet oil company drilling in the Lakota nation, landlocked in the center of the U.S?

I LOVE those coins. I wanna read some more on this. My mother is currently looking into gaining membership to the eastern band of Cherokee after some genealogy discoveries and I try to support any tribe I get a chance to anyway. 40-50 an oz is steep, but the front is very sharp to me, and it's a good cause and sure to promote awareness of metals and fiat currency issues. Good for them I say!!

This looks very interesting.

This also makes me think of the Liberty Dollars and thier coins being collected by the FBI.

I think I will watch, but for now keep a good distance away.

Awake, O kings of the earth! Come ye, O, come ye, with your gold and your silver, to the help of my people, to the house of the daughters of Zion, to the help of the people of the God of this Land even Jesus Christ.
