i had to go in to my store at close tonight (the closer forgot her key to the door). While I'm standing there waiting for the cash drawers to be counted I hear the question " do you want these?". And there in the drawer is $3.80 in silver dimes. I tell her that she has first dibs, but she says she knows I collect them...so go ahead. Well OK if you insist. There is $50 in rolled dimes in petty cash and I'm gonna search those in the morning when I open.
well i went through the 10 rolls of dimes in petty cash and found another $4.50 in 2 rolls of the same style. When I went to the bank to make the deposit I bought $50 in dimes and asked if they had any in rolls like this (showing them 1 of the rolls that had the silver). They didn't have any of those type rolls, and I only pulled 1 silver dime from those rolls.
I also bought $10 in pennies. Results were: copper - 25.7% 1982 - 3.5% 1 1953 canadian
