I picked up 182 rolls of halves, a box of dimes, and a box of nickels. 118 of the half rolls were fed rolls. I found a bank that had two boxes. Obviously, someone backed out on an order. When I stopped at one bank, the girl says they have 57 rolls. I asked her if these were turned in by one individual, or a bunch of different folks (This is better). She says she thought it was from a lot of different people. I run across town to get the money and go back and she rolls out the halves and the bulk of them are fed rolls that have been unrolled at one end, the coins extracted and the keepers, kept, and then the rolls are refilled with the dumpage. I went ahead and got them anyway, there were a few that were from someone else. I'm opening rolls as I type this and I just got a 1968 kennedy. Just got a roll of mint state 1995's. I'll throw em' in a jar for a while. UPDATE: I found a 1969 kennedy. I'm sorting through the dumpage now so I can get that over with.

I totally agree.I wish no one would post results either.Halves are a closed loop system.More + more people looking = poorer and poorer results...

I enjoy hearing about others finds, be them silver or otherwise. Due to current economic conditions, I would even bet that more 90% silver is now making its way back into circulation. Searching halves isn't for everyone. First it keeps a lot more capitol tied up and that is not feasible for everyone financially. So some people buy some rolls every now and then, to really search you need boxes and bags. Due to poor returns or skunk boxes, I would bet many quickly give up.
Perhaps people post before they finish sorting because they want to share their exciting, or even disappointing information in "real" time with people with common interest. Either way I like reading all the posts here.

You mistook what I wrote!
I enjoy reading about what people find.
I find it weird and pointless (no offense to dan52) when peole post when they just started searching. IT makes a LOT more sense to post after your done searching so you can tell us about your entire results...not just 10 out of XXXnumber of rolls |

Well, I don't really get through. I have coins coming in and coins going out on a continuous basis. I almost always have something that needs sorting. Thanks for your viewpoint. |
