I was on my 6th or 7th box of halves. I use a short, wide, screw driver to pry up one end of the wrapper so I can reuse it. As mentioned, I was on my 6th or 7th box with all being skunks. I wasn't being particularly gentle with the screw driver. Anyways, I came across a 1970s half. Its a proof. It is perfect except for one hairline scratch that is 3/16 ths of an inch long. I don't know for certain if I made the scratch, but I think its likely. I guess I just need to keep things in perspective, its not like I damaged a priceless coin. I think its worth is about $15.00.
Questions:
1. Anybody ever have this happen? 2. Anyone know of a way to remove a scratch without damaging the coin?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

why do you want to reuse the wrapper? you cant ever get it rewrapped like the way you received it?
Does anyone know where you can get half dollars wrappers? Do they make Ike Wrappers also?

| It is easy to damage a coin. I damaged a 1916 dime (barber) dug it with screw driver... Metal detecting. I was sick It was almost new looking. (low end of AU) now it has a nice deep scratch over the face. |
Selling Ryedale sorted USA cents 1.5 each + shipping over 500fv 1.5 each +1/2 shipping If you pick up 1.35 each located MT/ND boarder. after Ryedale sorting they are hand sorted to remove canadian then rechecked with Ryedale to insure all copper and count out $50 FV then placed in cloth bags and sealed with #1 copper wire. |

| Snappy, you can reuse those wrappers. Not the plastic kind, but the paper kind that are tucked at both ends. Its true, that you can't get it back to like you received it, but you can fold the untucked end over after you've untucked it and replaced the coins you don't want. |
