I had posted about how I had left a bunch of halves because the teller thought that they had been gone through but wasn't sure about all of them. I also picked up a box of fed rolls that someone hadn't picked up. Here we go.
NEVER belive tellers when they say they have been gone through! MANY MANY time I have found 40% halfs! Most people know about 90% halfs but not to many know about 40%
i agree with that highroller most people do know about the 90% but not 40%..i went to a yard sale and a guyy was selling a jar of clad halves for a dollar a piece i went through them and picked out all the 40% halves!
I have found a few silvers....I got two 66's from teller trays and of the 110 rolls I have went through so far, I have found two 66's, two 67's, and one 64. Thats enough to keep me from feeling to dissapointed. I make it a point not to be to greedy, that way I am not disappointed to often. The silvers I found in rolls were from rolls that were unlike the bulk of the rest of the rolls. Whenever you pick up say...a hundred rolls and there are like sixty five of those rolls being of the same wrapper, that's a good indication that its dumpage. The exception is when the guy who collected ALL halves decided to turn in ALL their collection, for whatever reason. But generally speaking, when buying customer rolls, its better to see a large variety of different wrappers. IMO

Thats not always true becuase sometimes the bank get a bag filled up on their machine and roll them (in all the same wrapper) and put them in a box to store easier
Some banks will sell you the bags of halves from their coin counters. You never know if you don't ask. You occasionally find some rather unusual things in these bags.
