I use to get buys at 8.5 times.

I would only meet buyers in the post office during business hours. I got tired of CL not long ago after some crazy sellers. Including one guy that walked up to me, acted really wierd and then took off in hurry for some reason.

One buyer decided it would be better for me to meet him at my house.... no thanks even if they are free.

One buyer got there and demanded I pay 10X face just because I made him drive a few extra miles to meet at the post office.

Not to mention a few no shows in a row.... I moved down to 7X about 3 weeks ago and thats when I go N/S after N/S. I will stick to mailed transactions only.

But... heres hoping you find someone willing to sell!

Thanks, appreciate the resonses. I to would never want anyone to know wher I live, hence where my stash might be... Might being the key word.

I have made about 15 or so purchases off of Craigslist for small coin collections. So far there have been no whackos and not a single no show, and no one asking for more than the ad. I bring a copy of the ad and their email in case they have questions. I treat people honestly and respectfully in the ads and emails back and forth so I think that goes a long way. Even if someone has only a modest collection of a couple hundred common wheat cents for $10, I treat them the same as someone willing to sell me $1500 worth of silver.

My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

When you see someone selling on Craigslist there usually isnt any problem. Its when you post seeking sellers out that the problems sometimes happen. People can be so strange around here sometimes I guess :P

Hi guys,

I've been following the posts for awhile. This is my 1st post. I just got a set of sterling silver salt/pepper shakers on Craigslist for free. Almost an oz of silver for FREE. I was tickled.

I agree. I have had good luck selling on Craigslist. No problems so far. I haven't sold anything coin related though.

Problem here in the Detroit/Ann Arbor area is finding somebody selling PM's or coins at even remotely close to realistic prices.
